HW-T2-40F (Desktop)
The HW-T2-40F is a compact, dual-head desktop SMT pick-and-place machine from Beijing Huawei Guochuang (HWGC), positioned as an entry-level production and prototyping solution. It is designed for small electronics workshops, R&D labs, university teaching environments, LED-light assemblers, and low-to-medium volume contract manufacturers that need automated SMT placement at a price point well below mid-range four-head machines, while still delivering reliable, repeatable performance.
The machine is built on a rigid welded steel frame with imported AC servo motors driving both X and Y axes through precision ball screws and TBI linear guide rails. This combination provides smooth, low-vibration motion and supports a repeated positioning accuracy of 0.01 mm, with a placement (mounting) accuracy of approximately 0.05 mm. The platform is rated for continuous 24-hour operation. With a net weight around 76 kg and a compact desktop footprint, the machine can be installed on a standard workbench without specialized foundation work.
Two independent placement heads operate in parallel, each fitted with interchangeable nozzles for different component sizes and packages. The vision system uses two cameras: one downward-looking component recognition camera that verifies nozzle pickup before each placement, and one mark/fiducial camera mounted on the gantry for PCB alignment. While the two-camera setup is more modest than the six-camera arrays on HWGC's higher-end models, it is sufficient for the chip sizes and throughput class the T2-40F targets.
The HW-T2-40F handles components from 0201 chips up to roughly 30 × 30 mm IC packages, including 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, LED beads, diodes, transistors, SOT, SOP, and similar small-outline parts. Maximum component height is 7 mm, and components can be rotated through the full ±180° range. PCB capacity ranges from 50 × 50 mm minimum up to 320 × 230 mm maximum, which covers the vast majority of prototype, hobbyist, and small-product board sizes. The machine accepts a mix of feeder types — electric, pneumatic, vibration, and IC trays — across its 40 feeder slots.
The HW-T2-40F is operated through HWGC's Windows-based SMT control software, available in an English interface. The software supports import of standard PCB coordinate (CSV/CAD) files, automatic and manual mark-point setting, and program generation for repeatable production runs. Operators interact with the machine through an industrial PC, keyboard, and mouse on a standard monitor.
The machine runs on a single-phase 220 V supply (a 110 V variant is available on request, 50/60 Hz), and requires a clean compressed-air supply for vacuum nozzle operation. It is rated for >24 hours of continuous operation without shutdown and is certified to common export-grade standards (CE, RoHS).
The HW-T2-40F sits firmly in the entry-level segment of the HWGC line-up, typically priced in the US $3,300–$4,300 range, well below the four-head HW-T4-44/50F (~$8,500–$10,000). Its 1,500–3,000 CPH throughput is roughly one-third of the four-head machines, which makes it best suited to prototyping, small-batch production, educational use, and dedicated lines for simple boards (e.g. LED strips, sensor boards, hobby-electronics products). For users whose immediate priority is automated, repeatable placement of standard SMD passives and small ICs — rather than maximum production throughput — the T2-40F offers strong value with a low barrier to entry, a small footprint, and the same overall HWGC software workflow used across the larger machines.
